Childhood & school life:

He went to John Muir high school, Pasadena Junior College and UCLA .Jackie Robinson’s father left them in 1920.His mother and the rest of the family moved to Pasadena, CA. He grew up in poverty.

Hobbies:

Jackie Robinson’s hobby was to play baseball, basketball and football. He played baseball when he was little on the street or in his backyard. He played baseball at Pasadena junior college and UCLA. He played for the Brooklyn dodgers from 1947 to 1956.He played basketball at Pasadena College and UCLA. He was a baseball and basketball star at UCLA.

He also played football at UCLA and of course he was good at football too. He was just very athletic. He loved playing sports. He enjoyed it and he was good at it. His famous play was stealing home and being safe. Yogi Berra was the catcher and he says he was out. It looks like he is safe in pictures

Anecdotes:

Pee wee Reese talked about when they were in a hotel and a bunch of protestors threatened Jackie and shouted racial slurs to him. The whole dodger team was on Jackie’s side because they all liked him.

Jackie’s side of the story was he seemed a little scared but he kept calm. They threatened that they were going to kill him and yelled racist things to him. He didn’t bother with them because it happened everywhere.

They would try and peg Jackie when he was batting. And they would yell at him and say he doesn’t deserve to be here. Jackie yelled at them sometimes just to get them fired up. He would get pegged and just steal bases.

Career;

Jackie Robinson’s career was playing for the dodger from 1947 to 1956.he was the first black man to play in the major leagues. He played second base. He batted .311.he had 1,518 hits, 734 rbis and 197 stolen bases. He also played in the Negro league for the Kansas City Monarchs and the Montreal Royals. He was a 6 time all star. He also helped win the World Series in 1955.he played in 6 World Series championships. He was rookie of the year in 1947.he had a national league batting title. And 2 national league stolen bases champion. His jersey was retired by every team. He was inducted into the hall of fame in 1962

Reason for fame:

The reason for Jackie Robinsons fameis that he played for the Brooklyn dodgers in 1947 to 1956.He was the first balck man to play in the major leagues.he was also the most honored pro athlete at that time.He won 2 batting titles.he was a 6 time all star too.his major league debut was Aprril 15,1947.HE also got his number retired by every team in the major league.

Old age: After Jackie retired in 1956 ,he went into the hall of fame in 1962.he worked at chock full o’ nuts and worked there for awhile.he enjoyed working there Rachel robinson said.he wanted a new challenge because baseball wasn’t a challenge to him anymore

No Hall of Fame Inductees

No one got inducted into the Hall of Fame this year because you need to get 75% of the votes.And no one did.Craig Biggio got 68% of the votes,that was the highest percent that anyone got this year.Mike Piazza,Barry Bonds,Roger Clemens got half of the votes or less.Barry Bonds ,Roger Clemens,sammy sosa all have evidence that they used steroids.Mike piazza and craig biggio are one of the best players at their positions.Mike Piazza is 3rd or 4th in all time home runs by a catcher.Craig Biggio is first in all time hits by a shortstop.the reason why nobody got inducted was because most of the inductees used steroids.But Craig Biggio will get into the hall of fame soon.Mike Piazza will too.Even though Barry bonds is the all time leader in home runs he doesn't deserve to be in the hall of fame because he used steroids.Sammy Sosa shouldn't either because he got caught corking his bat.He used steroids too.Roger clemens doesn't really have anything to be inducted too.he played for the yankees that is pretty much it.he won a world series too.But I don’t think he deserves to be inducted.Jeff bagwell should have made it higher up in the ballot.Mark McGwire should make it because before he used steroids he was phenomenal.I like him even though he used steroids too.Someone should have been inducted it is sad that the players use steroids to get better.They should work hard for their money.

coraline movie review

In the stop-motion film Coraline by Henry Selick in 2009 there is a young-teenage girl named Coraline.the voice of coraline is Dakota Fanning.She is neglected by her parents and her parents are played by teri hatcher andlearnabout plants.the other mother hates the dirt and her father just goes with whatever the mother says.He is always on the computer typing up a paper for the garden company.So she goes and counts and details everything in the house.then she finds a little door and she wonders what it is. Soher mom goes and finds the key and behind the door is just bricks.Then she goes outside when the rain stops and meets this weird kid named Wybie and he has this doll that looks exactly like coraline.so he gave  it to  her and she went home and threw it on her chair next to her bed.But when her parents go to sleep she wakes up and goes to the little door and opens the door and there is a hallway to another world.Actuallyit is the best world she ever could dream of.her other mother is happy and cooks good food and makes her welcome and feel happy.well she eats food and goes to bed.when she wakes up she is in her normal bed in the her regular world.She was very confused and mad because the other worlds was so fun and exciting. So she went outside to walk around and she knew there was a well that was never ending.she heard that people never hit the bottom.then wybie comes and annoys her so she grabs him and tells him to shut up.then wybie says that his grandmother is calling because he thinks she is crazy. coraline gets angry and goes back in to her house.she eats dinner and goes to bed.And mr bobinsky's jumping mice come in and take her to the little door again.So she goes in and wybies little black cat comes in to the world and talks and tells her that this world is bad and the other mother isnt really nice.but coraline doesnt think she really is.so coraline has the best time again.she goes down to mrs spink and they have a play going on.there is wybie and coraline and a ton of dogs.then coraline goes up to mr bobinsky and he plays a circus act.then she goes back home and when she is eating dinner the other mother has a box in the center of the table.the other mother leans the box more towards coraline and says she has a question and coraline says no because she doesnt want her eyes sewn in for buttons.so the other mother gets mad and puts coraline in a timeout in a mirror.she meets the three ghost children and they tell her to go find their eyes.so she goes back into the other world.And so she goes back and plays a game to get back the childrens eyes and to get her parents because her parents got kidnapped.

glee premier review

  Glee is an American muscial comedy that airs on Fox. It is based on a high school glee club.(Matthew Morrison) plays the spanish teacher and becomes the director of the glee club,he also played in the movie Hairspray.Rachel Berry(Lea Michele) plays the lead role in the premier.And when she left for college in New York the new rachel was being dealt with.The club wanted to pick the new Rachel.They sung call me maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen.to see who became the next Rachel and blaine became the new Rachel.Rachel went to her first ballet class and thought the teacher was harsh.She tried her best to impress the teacher.the glee club had  auditions. and so did rachel.Rachel always sung a song for her auditions and  at the same time this girl auditioned for the glee club and sung the same song as rachel.The girl made it on the glee club and was introduced at the next meeting.But at lunch they were making fun of the lunch lady and the new girl was sitting there taking it in and didnt say anything but it was her mom.                                                                                                                                                           

She told her mom that they were and she said she didnt want that to ruin anything because in other schools she didnt have any friends.And her mom didnt want her to be not popular again.But they were at lunch again and they were making fun of the lunch lady again.the new girl said something like she thought they were different and didnt care what other people think or do and they didnt care. the next day they said they were sorry and didnt want to hurt her feelings.But Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) is still at the high school with the glee club and blaine tells him to go to new york with rachel.So Kurt goes to New York and calls Rachel and they are by a fountain and rachel answers and says she misses her and everything. and she wishes she was there and Kurt says turn around and Kurt is there behind her on the other side of the fountain.This show has been talked about how it changed the whole look on the glee club and everybody loves the show.
